Hi,

What is the model number of the TV?

Hi yes it is TH-C50HD18

I am having a similar issue. I am using antenna. No HDMI cords, no SD card. I have tried the unplugging, waiting for 15 minutes, factory default reset. Nothing has helped. Do you have an idea what could be the concern?

Oh btw, I do not have manual

@lori77416

What is the model number of the TV?

Just confirming that there is a picture but only on the top half of the screen and that the bottom half is black, is this correct?

Do the TV menus show in the lower half of the screen?

Hi,

Here’s the local screen failure section from the service manual.

It appears that maybe there is a problem with the SD board.

Do you think that board can be replaced by a semi technical novice? It’s hard to tell whether it seems easy enough to get to

Hi @ Gary ONeal

The instructions for the SD board removal are on p.18.

I don't know the exact TV but study the cable connectors before removing the cables and check for any latches, clips or locking bars etc that may need to be raised or pressed etc before attempting to remove the cables. Also grab the cables by the plug if they have one and not by the wires as you may pull them out of the plug when removing from the connector.

Be gentle they shouldn't need too much force. If they don't come at first then stop and think about it before proceeding. It may be prudent to take some pictures of how everything is connected before you start just in case you may be unsure when reconnecting everything back together.

Also take note of the ESD advice at the start of the manual when handling boards.

If you take your time about it and are prepared then I'm sure that you'll be fine ;-)
