Hi,
It appears that the battery is failing and needs to be replaced. Even rechargeable batteries have a lifespan.
Here’s the ifixit Amazon Fire HD 8 Battery Replacement guide that may be of some help.
Replacement batteries are available online. Just search for Kindle Fire HD8 battery to get results for suppliers that suit you.
