how old is this pc? Has it been dropped? Does it contain important files? Does it have a hard drive or an ssd? @yshreyansh8

Laptop is about - 5.5 years old . Yes, it had been dropped many times . No it doesn't contain any important files . It had an hard drive.

I think to say your hdd is broken or could be fail in no time is very hard only from a look at that video. You better try to install your os new and in the most cases everything is fine.

The easiest and fastes way to fix it, is just to install windows again. It will format the storage medium during the installation or ask you to.

Hi @yshreyansh8 ,

If you haven’t got a recent backup of your data then try the following to see if you can fix the problem without losing your data:

Start the laptop and then when it boots into Windows force stop the laptop by holding the Power button operated until it shuts down.

Do this 3 times in a row i.e. Start > boot > force shutdown > start > boot > force shutdown > start >boot etc.

On the 3rd attempt it should boot into the Windows Recovery Environment menus.

Go to Troubleshoot > Advanced > Startup repair and follow the prompts.

Do not select Reset this PC because if you select the wrong option after this you will erase all your data as Windows will be reinstalled.

If the above doesn’t work for any reason e.g. the Recovery partition may be corrupted then try the following:

You can create a USB Win10 Recovery disc from any known working Win10 PC. All you need is an 8GB USB flashdrive and 40-60 minutes of time.

In the host PC go to Control Panel > Recovery > Create a recovery disc and follow the prompts.

When you have the USB recovery drive, start the laptop and then get into the BIOS area on startup by pressing F2 after it starts but before it boots into Windows.

When in BIOS change the boot order to USB 1st boot device and also enable the Legacy USB setting. Save the changes , insert the USB flashdrive into the laptop’s USB port and restart the laptop.

When the laptop restarts it should boot from the USB into the WRE menus.

Go to Troubleshoot > Advanced > Startup repair and follow the prompts.
