Front fan assembly (IO and CPU_MEM) not spinning

Machine has been overheating. Tests verified the IO and CPU_MEM fans in the front fan assembly are not spinning (they stay at 0 RPM during a fan test, no visible movement). After removing the fan assembly I noticed the cable connection to the port on the logic board was kind of smushed and bent. It looks like someone tried to force the fan assembly into place. I was able to fully seat the cable in the port, but am still not getting any fan spin. I’ve tried a separate front fan assembly and cable, fully seated in the port on the logic board, and the fans still do not spin during tests. My hunch is that the port on the logic board was damaged due to past improper installation of the front fan assembly, but there’s no visible damage to the port. Has anyone had a similar issue or advice to offer? Thanks.
