QWERTYUIO not working-I know there are some post re this BUT none work

I just switched out my dead logic board on my Macbook Pro 13” mid 2012.

Everything seems to be working but some keys in the keyboard are not. Specifically, QWERTYUIO [ ] = and the power button. Oddly enough P works fine.

I have tried everything I found here. I can’t reset PRAM or SMC because both require buttons on the keypad that aren’t working. Are there other solutions that aren’t already listed here on ifixit?

By the way, the keyboard was working fine before the logic board died. I don’t think it’s the logic board based on everything I’ve read here. I know there is a solution but, for the life of me, I can’t find one. Please help.

Thanks,

John

Edited: Here is a photo of the ribbon. I’m pretty sure it’s connected correctly.

Is an external USB keyboard works ? Check if the keyboard ribbon cable is well inserted into the connector, also look carefully at the connector and the cable end. Also verify the keyboard connector area for missing or damaged capacitors or resistors or corrosion in the area. Good luck :-)

I'm going to try an external keyboard. I did check the ribbon. I don't see any damage but it possibly could be damaged with all the attempts I made to plug it in correctly. I finally used the tape method to insert it properly. I don't see any corrosion or damage. I did clean the area with compressed air and also isopropyl. No dice on either one of those. This seems to be a common problem with MBPs and makes me wonder if I'm missing some easy fix or not doing it right.

@donjuanelguapo - The issue is getting the connection secured properly to the logic board. I've seen cables not inserted fully, damaged cables as well as damaged logic board connector. Yes, getting the cable in is a bit tricky!

@donjuanelguapo - Can you take a second one with the latch up so I can see the solder joints under it.
