Apple Pencil 1. gen. suddenly not working

Hi, my 1. gen. Apple Pencil suddenly wont interact with what's on the screen of my iPad (which it has done since I bought it in early 2018).

I don’t think the battery has been depleted, since I’ve been using the pencil daily and the issue occurred suddenly. Instead I suspect it has been damaged from being dropped on the floor, but

a) is there any way of diagnosing what might be the matter? and

b) would there be any point in doing so (meaning: with the tear down in mind; is there any thinkable issue that will be possible to repair?

actually, a better way to describe what I experienced would be to say that when I inserted the pencil in the connector, the iPad would not connect it. The settings would keep telling me the device wasn't connected.

Solución Elegida

I’m happy to be able to answer my own question, since it turned out a repair wasn’t necessary :o)

I found some suggestions elsewhere which made me:

a) tap “forget this device” for the bluetooth pairing for the pencil

b) reboot the iPad (possibly not necessary).

c) insert the pencil’s connector in the iPad to be happily surprised to be asked if I wanted to pair the pencil.

d) I did, and now it’s working fine again.

So, try re-pairing with or with out a re-boot if you experience something like what's described in my question.

In my case, reboot WAS necessary. Without it, re-pairing didn't help.
