Not really..it’s not a plug/unplug part that one can replace. It’s by all means part of the logic board as it’s tin soldered to it, as all other components. Being a microsoldering repair you won’t find a guide, you might find some video on youtube but it won’t be such a great help if you don’t have specific experience.

Thank you @arbaman, I found one (only one on all of youtube). I ended up buying a new ipad gen 7 yesterday, but as this one is basically junk unless its fixed, I am going to attempt it. I know ill probably fail, but hey worth a shot at this point, right? I'll post an update with my success or (more probably) epic failure.

@tweak82 Right, no harm in trying. However, as I wouldn't take Apple too seriously when it comes to diagnostics over the counter, before letting you get into parts replacements that may not even be the needed ones, I'd invite you considering a third option, giving your iPad to a repairer for evaluation and a second quote ;)

@arbaman the only “repair shop” at the mall where the Apple store is said they don’t do that repair

@arbaman just wanted to report Success!!! After studying micro soldering techniques on you tube, and a lot of hours on this site I now have a charging iPad, with a new battery also!!

It is possible, the port is attached to the motherboard, somebody with experience have to take this repair, copper pads are easy to damage when you are de-soldering the old port.

While I appreciate the article, this doesn’t (as far as I can tell) go through the process into replacing it. I did find the part in question available and bought it as it was only 10 bucks. Still looking for instructions on the process though.

@tweak82 you need to remove the screws digitizer/lcd. Disconnect the battery, most likely you will need to remove the battery and remove the motherboard and charging port. You will have to desolder the port and solder on the new one. Look on you tube. There should be multiple videos on how to do it. I ccx would watch them all. Each person might do it a little differently and you want to be sure it's done correctly. You might want to practice your soldering if you are new at this. I hope this information helps you.

Most places don’t do this repair. I might attempt it myself…

I am going to attempt this repair myself soon, however i was looking for some insight. I have a decent amount of esperience with copper contact soldering but i dont know if i'm confident enough to make that repair
