Hello, my car is Mercedes Benz W123 model 1978. My speedometer suddenly Stop I want to know why?

will take a bit of digging to find the problem. its probably a faulty gear in the speedometer system or speed sensor or something may be stuck in the instrument cluster, take apart the cluster first and check for faults there.
