Severe battery drain on standby after screen replacement

It seems like right after Ithis iPhone screen got replaced a while back at a third party and for some reason, the phone now has a really bad battery drain on standby. I checked the battery health and it is at 90 percent and when I use the phone it dies as expected. However, the standby times for it are really bad. In probably a day the phone is at zero. I’ve even tried this with a restore from iTunes and no apps installed but the battery drain is still there. Is it because of the screen replacement? Also now when I plug it in it shows the apple logo for a few seconds, then goes black, then shows the logo again and it just cycles through this endlessly. I don’t know if it drained before the screen replacement but I’m certain that iPhones can standby for a lot longer than 24 hours and this dies in less than a day. Any ideas on what could be causing this?

If you were having problems with battery drain and now the phone is boot looping it would point to a bad battery. Replace the battery and it should be fine, they don’t cost that much.

The thing is that beforehand the battery was at 80 percent health and it drained like crazy in standby even after a clean install.

If the battery health is indeed 80% it is due for a battery replacement.

From experience from my clients it seems that around 80% or lower is when they notice the battery is not holding its charge as well as it used to when it was new.

This will either be a board problem or parts problem. We always rule out parts first which in this case would be the battery.

I have gotten around to replacing the battery and it is still draining really quickly. One full day on standby and it's at zero.

To troubleshoot this problem further you would need some of the following equipment and electronics knowledge. If you haven’t, the device would need to go to a repair shop.

• Multimeter.

• DCPS.

• Microscope.

• Board view software.

• Knowledge of power rails on the IPhone.
