Please help me. I'm so desperate.

I'm having a terrible time here. I'm not doing good financially. So I learned how to replace phone screens to flip phones and try to make some cash. I'm having a terrible time with this phone 8 plus. The seller told me the battery was broken, it would only charge to 1%. Then turn off after 1 minute. I figured it was the charge port. I ordered one, replaced it. Same problem. I came to the forum, asked for help. Someone told me its probably the battery. I ordered a new battery. It came today. Same problem! I wasted so much money trying to fix this phone. I replaced the charge port AND the battery. It still doesnt charge to more than 10%! What on earth could the problem be? How can I fix this?!

You have done what you should have done and that is ruled out a parts problem. Now you defiantly know you have a board problem. There is a problem with your charging circuit. If you haven’t the right equipment to diagnose and repair like a hot air station soldering iron multimeter etc. it would be advisable to have it repaired by a repair shop.

If you are buying phones to fix you will run into these problems quite a bit. Why not start learning how to fix the boards; it’s a perfect opportunity if they are not customer’s phones. You can pick up some reasonably priced hot air and soldering stations and there are plenty of people on this site to give you a hand.

Chris, would you be able to do me a huge favor? I'm in a struggling time in my life. Just trying to get by to support my family. If you could email me some advice, to get started in learning how to micro solder? My email is lindenw_274@hotmail.com , just even some books or YouTube vids you would recommend? Or how to fix the current issue if I bought a micro soldering set? Or even what to buy at this point. I really don't know what the next step is. I'd really appreciate it!

iPad Rehab have some great how to videos on you tube. As for equipment you will defiantly need.

• Board view software.

I use ZXW but I think there is some free software out there. Search for “Paul Daniels”

• Multimeter.

These you can pick up fairly cheap.

• Hot air & soldering station.

To be honest I used an all in one from jaycar for two years. I think it cost about $180.00. You will learn to work with what you have.

• Microscope.

These can be fairly expensive depending on what setup you go with. Do some researching before you purchase.

• Broken ICloud locked logic boards.

These are cheap and are great to learn on, they will also supply you with caps and filters.

• Sundry’s

Flux, tweezers, solder, IC’s etc.

Shipping plays a big roll on who you purchase through. What region are you in?

This is a decent software for phone's boards view, not as good as Zxw but is free/donationware and it's good enough to get an idea about components and circuits: https://phoneboard.co/
