AOC monitor power board

Hello,

I have a problem with an AOC q277PQU monitor. The screen is black (no osd or image) while the led is green and usb ports are powered.

I was excpecting a dead capacitor on the power board, but the problem seems more serious.

I can’t find a spare for this power board, do you think it’s recoverable?

Thanks.

Thank you for your helpful answer @oldturkey03

I am disappointed becasue the 2 yr warranty is overshot by maybe 3 or 4 months, and it was a very decent screen for money.

Here are the labels on the panel:

This little chip is just at the back of the burned zone.

Do you know what it is?

@Nathaniel Miller I cound't find one unfortunately

@ramaro that is a Schottky SK84 SMD Diode

Maximum Recurrent Peak Reverse Voltage 40V

Maximum RMS Voltage 28V

Maximum DC Blocking Voltage 40V

Cost ~1.00 USD maddening isn't it?

Go ahead and replace it and see what happens. At this time it can't cause any more damage and may actually work. Let us know how it is going.

Solución Elegida

@ramaro this will be tricky since there are no schematics etc. for this board and power boards for this monitor seem to be pretty hard to come by. Check for the part number 715G7760-P03-000-001S since some Acer’s use the same power supply. You can try and identify the components within the scorched area and replace those and hope it’ll work or you can consider a universal LCD driver for the monitor. That would require you to remove your power and main board and use a different setup for your panel. Not impossible but it’ll require some skills. It is still better than having to get a new monitor and condemning yours to the landfill. Let us know what the label on the back of your LCD panel says and we’ll find out if it could be done.

Update (09/15/2019)

@ramaro so it looks like the LCD boards may actually be available. Not cheap so, but cheaper than a new monitor. Your want to contact the vendor from here as well as this one and see if they can assist you with the N02.0 revision
