Why my refrigerator does not cool enough, but freezer freezes ok
I have a GE Monogran built-in refrigerator. It used to stop cooling altogether once every few months. Changed the damper and ice maker. Now the freezer is working ok. But the fridge side does not cool enough. It stays at around 45 degree. The timer seems to be working, (turning), and the motor is working ok. We were told the insulation in the wall between the freezer the fresh food section is worn out. But, I am not sure if that is the correct diagnosis. Can you give me an idea what the problem is?

Hi @miketa ,
What is the model number of the fridge?
Can you hear if the evap fan is running?
It stops if you open a door and starts again when the doors are closed.
It will be running if the compressor is running.
Do not confuse this fan with the condenser fan which is near the compressor.
Usually the evap fan is near the evap unit in the freezer compartment. (if you only have one evap unit that is)
If you can't hear the fan it may be faulty or iced up. If it is iced up there may be a problem with the defrost heater, the defrost thermostat or the control board

Yes, I hear the fan humming in the freezer and also I hear a fan running in the fridge side. The fans keep running even when I push the door switches.
