I ran into a problem.

So I’m not gonna lie, I’ll be blunt. I got a little mad. So I ended up hitting the middle of my keyboard on my air., since then, the device fan is running loud as soon as I turn it on, it runs slow, and it’s just acting weird, what do you guys think the problem is? Hard drive looks fine, maybe I bent a connection that’s important for it to work properly? Not sure, I appreciate any replies or help, thank you!

It’s possible that you bent the actual frame and forced the fan to come in contact with something. With the fan spinning, this would make a lot of noise while at the same time causing the fan to slow down. With the fan slowing some because of making contact, that will cause the heat inside the case to increase. First thing to check would be to see if the fan is making contact with something and if it is, then try to figure out how to fix that problem. Once that is done, the fan speed will increase and the internal temps inside the case will go down. Since you will need to open the case to do this, that would be a good time to blow it out with some canned air or a small air compressor to remove any dust or lint buildup inside the machine. Hope this information helps.

There are a few thermal sensors within the system which could have been damaged and/or the connection to the logic board. When they are not working your system goes into Safe Mode which it sounds like it is, Fan running hard and the system is sluggish (CPU is running at a slower clock rate).

The exact area which got the hit can effect a few different parts. As an example the touchpad and logic board. In addition the cables can become damaged from the impact.

At this point you’ll need to run both the onboard diagnostics (Press the D key when restarting the system) and you may need to run this app TG Pro which will allow you to see the discreet sensors and fan Mac startup key combinations

Let us know what error message diagnostics gives you and post a snapshot of TG Pro’s main window so we can see all of the sensors and fan Agregar imágenes a una pregunta existente
