Replaced Logic board failed 5 days after warranty.

I have a early 2013 15'“ macbook pro and the logic board failed around 3 months ago and I had it fixed from an apple verified dealer (because thats all I have near me) and now exactly 95 days after the fix it has failed yet again and apple is saying they can’t do anything because its past the warranty and because its consider a “vintage” computer now (which it wasn’t when I originally had it fixed). Does anyone know if theres anything I can do? I payed way to much to have it fixed in the first place and it barely made it 3 months. Thanks for any advice.

Regrettably if warranty terms were respected there’s not much you can do from a legal point of view, besides contacting the dealer and appeal to their good will. I’d feel miserable if my repair on a Mac would fail 95 days after working on it and try to find an acceptable solution for both parts. However, if you are denied an acceptable arrangement for you, the only reasonable advice I would give is to try and find an indipendent reputable lab into component level repairs, some work on a no fix no fee basis and may be able to repair your Mac for a fraction of the cost of a board replacement.

Thanks for the response. Yeah I feel like I may just have to be computer-less for awhile. Are these reputable labs in Montana? Also do you know if the warranty covers for when the symptoms started or when I took it back into them?

@kev60 I believe there should be some reputable repair lab in Montana but I'm far away and I don't know that much of my american colleagues, I'll knock with @danj , @mayer , @oldturkey03 for help with this.

I don't know about US laws but I'd think the terms would apply to the date your counterpart have been informed about the issue.

Okay thank you so much for the quick replies.

First here's the Apple listing on what is classified as Vintage Vintage and obsolete products. Sadly, your system is on the list ;-{

I live in the Northeast, While I've traveled through Montana many years ago, I don't know of anyone who does board level repairs there. Focus on getting the board exchanged.
