Reparación y soporte para los controladores que se enviaron con la PS3. Lanzado en noviembre de 2007 (solo en Japón) y 2008 (otros países), el controlador alimentado por batería de litio de seis ejes (CECHZC2) es fácil de reparar.

Why do I need to press the d-pad very hard to work?

Hi! My ps3 controller started having a problem with the d-pad. It doesn't work unless I press it very hard. Do you know what could be the problem and if it is possible to fix? It's not a major problem, but it's still annoying.

Also, my other dualshock 3 has a problem with random inputs but I've already tried to fix it by cleaning it and adding thickness to the contact's foam but that didn't fix it.

In case, do you know where I could buy a new controller in the Netherlands?

Thanks in advance for any reply!

Graphite on the back of the D-Pad could be worn down. All you need to do is open up the controller, apply some graphite (pencil or otherwise), and test.

Don’t know about the other controller’s problem, but I’ll look into it.

and for the last question, you can use eBay or Amazon.

Thanks for the reply! Graphite fixed the problem!

On the other controller, instead, I noticed that the circuit board has some lines completely faded where the circuits should touch the mother board, so I guess that's the problem. I saw that it's possible to buy circuit boards for ps3 controller so I was thinking to give it a shot. What do you think? Also, I don't know how I'll be able to attach the circuit board to the plastic that holds it.

Well, give it a try, if you want to! Check carefully around the board for any clips and/or screws. If the clips are holding in the board, try gently moving them back with a screwdriver.

Good luck!

I got the new circuit board and it works! So one controller is completely fixed now! Thanks a lot :)

However, the d-pad of the other one is starting to not work again. Also, even with graphite, the d-pad was way much better, but still not completely perfect. To fix it I just rubbed a pencil on the contact surface of the d-pad conductive rubber. Should I do it differently? Do you know a way to fix it 100% and for good? Or should I buy a new d-pad conductive rubber?

Thanks again for the replies and sorry for the new questions!

Thanks again! Already ordered one a couple of days ago :) that should fix the problem since I tried swapping the conductive rubbers of the two controllers, and the problem moved from one controller to the other.

Thanks again for all the help! really appreciated!
