How to drain completely very bad calibrated battery?

My iPhone SE’s battery worked pretty fine until I calibrated it. It goes from 100% to 40% in one seconds, then it lasts forever on 40% and then turns off. When it turns off it shows the without battery logo, but when I press the button the another time, it turns on, it lasts a few seconds and turns off again, and the same over and over again. How can I drain the battery to calibrate it properly?

There’s not much you can do with such battery behavior..either the battery logic side or the iPhone charging circuit are faulty..all you can do is try to have your battery replaced or walk into a phone repair shop and ask them for help. Battery “calibration” is more a myth than a reality and as a matter of fact you won’t find any battery calibration procedure from Apple’s support.

Respectfully Battery Calibration is a legitimate thing and can be useful in a variety of situations. As far as apple not having it on their forums I wouldn't trust them to know their elbow from their butthole.

However, both of your suggestions would be mine as well starting with a battery replacement. If a repair shop is the answer for this issue research into those shops is highly recommended.

Theoretically, the powermanagment should not work in DFU mode (get into DFU mode and do not charge) But the problem as described may not be due to poor calibration. It may be a faulty battery. Reconnecting charging to a fully discharged iPhone may take a long time before something show on display. You have to be patient.

The battery worked well before, and when I turn on the iPhone again it has a completely different percentage. It seems to be a calibration issue.

More than likely you just need to replace your battery. Is this battery original to the device? If so, then just change it with a reputable parts supplier like iFixit and youll be good to go.

Ya it seems either the logic on the battery it’s sending or the phones is faulty. Test with a brand new battery first then get back to us.

u can return the new battery later if it doesn’t solve it but I doubt it. It’s likely a lemon battery it happens. Just gotta try and see if it is.
