Check the home button for damage, try the original screen, try it without the home button to see if the volume buttons etc work

@c9679 Just wondering since the home button is not connected to the volume cable how would this make a difference? Also something I forgot to mention it also takes about 5 minutes for the phone to load up after turning it off. The customer has the phone back right now but when I have enough information on this issue I will be meeting with the customer to pick the phone back up to try the solutions. (As the customer lives about 30 Minutes away) I just have never had these issues before over changing the screen.

Only thing I can think of is liquid damage or physical tears on the ribbon cable for the volume button and pry damage on the logic board.

Damage to the volume flex when performing the repair could be the cause but I would assume that also if it thinks the button is stuck in the on position then it might stop other buttons from working... not had it on the 7 however have had other phones with one button being damaged causing others to stop working

Rule everything out ie try original or another screen, if that fails try it without the home button plugged in, if that fails plug the home button back in then unplug the volume button flex etc...

Customer is going to bring the phone back on Monday, I will check into trying everything as suggested here at that time and get back with the outcome.

The front camera flex cable on the iPhone 7 Plus seems to be very sensitive. The first thing I would check for is to make sure there is no small tears to the cable. If the cable seems to be intact, remove the front camera flex cable and ensure that the black adhesive sticker is covering the gold contact pads on the flex cable. The iPhone 7 Plus in particular seems to easily leave the sticker behind on the original screen when you go to make the swap. Here is a picture of the adhesive sticker I am referring to:

As Josh points out in Earpiece does not work after screen replacement, if this sticker is not present, it grounds out to the frame of the iPhone display causing slow boot times, no earpiece speaker, the home button may not work, etc.

So definitely check for that sticker.

Taking a while to start up is classic if it's finding a problem with any of its parts ie home button.

Likely hood is if uve swapped the bits back to the original screen and still are having a problem then you might have damaged those parts when you did the replacement

Try with a new front camera flex and maybe volume button flex, unfortunately the button on the 7 is set for that phone so you can't really replace that urself look for signs of damage, try replacing the other bits first

I will be replacing the front camera flex cable, as soon as it comes in. What gets me is that the volume buttons are not working and the cable for that I did not even touch. it is actually under everything on the back side of the phone.

Do the volume buttons still not work if u only plug in a working screen with no front camera and no home button???
