I left my desk for a minute and I find my nephew spraying wd40 upside down onto my keyboard and now it won’t turn on he did the same with my mouse I have no clue what to do to fix this, this has never happened to me before

Hi,
Depending on the make and model of the keyboard and mouse, they both may be write off’s.
They’ll both have to be stripped down and thoroughly cleaned using Isopropyl Alcohol 90%+ (available at most pharmacies) and then allowed to dry after checking that all the WD-40 has been removed.
There’s no guarantee that this will fix the problems as there may be electrical damage as well.
Also when attempting to repair keyboards you can create more problems than you solve.

if spray gets inside the electronics, it can damage plastic parts inside first of all shutdown your laptop as soon as possible ,and then try to use any of these things to wipe out your Keyboard and mouse
- Rubbing alcohol(IsoPropyl Alcohol 90%+)
- Cotton swabs (Q-Tips)
- Dish soap (without bleach) or some other mild detergent
- Paper towels
- Flathead screwdriver
- Towel
Soak up the liquid as much as you can.I would suggest you to dip cotton swab into the alcohol mentioned above and begin to clean each key post if any of the liquid went under the keys remove the carriers and soak them with keys.For mouse clean it by rubbing alcohol (Isoproply) with a cotton swabs. Now Flip your computer upside down and left it dry at least overnight After giving time for your computer and keys to completely dry, reattach everything in reverse order that you removed it. Hope it helps.There is no guarantee as it depends upon the model of keyboard and mouse.But at least you can try.
