You would have to find a copy of High Sierra from a third party since Apple doesn’t offer the update for your Mac. Once you have copy of HS and a thumb drive, you can get it patched using the patch and following instructions from this fine developer: http://dosdude1.com/

Do keep in mind most of the newer options won't work and you'll need to max out your RAM. Even my newer 17" 2011 system was a bit batty with High Sierra with 8 GB of RAM had to up it to 16 GB to get it to be stable (editing pictures).
Thanks I will put that into consideration when doing the up grades.
