Bootloop with original home button

Heya folks,

I encountered a pretty strange problem...

Following problem;

Iphone 7 display replacement.

(With original home button it bootloops)

So i took the home button from another device and it suddenly booted, ofc the touch wasnt working.

So i proceeded to check the apparently defective home button in the other device and it booted aswell..

So basically both home buttons do work, but the original one, (on the device with screen replacement) makes the device bootloop (apple logo flashing and then restarting).

Does anyone have a idea what it could be?

Thanks in advance

Probably just a defective screen. I have had a few before with a defective extension cable from the screen to the home button.

Note that the phone should boot up normally with just the screen and home button installed with the front cam cable unplugged.

Once i unplugged the front cam cable it did boot up. So apparently youre right. Im still wondering why it boots up with the non original home button + front cam cable plugged?

Because the home button touch functionality only works on the original home button that came with the phone. Any other ones are immediately rejected by the phone.

Chances are the front camera assembly may be faulty.

I know that only the original home button works. Yet it booted with a non original one, but wouldnt boot with the original one.

Furthermore, if i understand this right, does the front assembly with its flex cable have any connection with the touch id? Wondering why it boots without the front cam.

It does actually, if you plug in the front camera cable upside down (reversed) it could kill the phone and make touch ID not work.

It has happened to a few people I've heard online.
