No scan tab shows up when I add my MFC-8890DW to my mac
I'm using the latest MacOS trying to add a printer/scanner that is on a different subnet. I'm in the 10.0.1.x while the printer /scanner is in the 10.0.0.x subnet. When I try adding the printer by IP it adds correctly, but without the scanning tab (scanning functions). I tried to sue the control Center to configure the scanner, but after trying to add it, the left most side of the window stays blank, it does not says Network/USB in the next tab and the last tab just says online. This mac previously had it's scan functions before it was moved to a different subnet.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Oh, brother! ;-}
Sorry, @jayeff - I don't have a clue why moving to a different subnet would cause the scanner part to disappear. I could see it going gray (in active).
What would happen if you move the Mac system to that subnet does it show up then? If it does then the issue would be the router may not allow the dialog between the Mac & Brother printer to be bi-directional between the subnets. Keep in mind the 10.x.x.x network is a non-routable network so unless the router is properly configured all connections go to the default gateway and out to the internet.
It's also possible the print driver needs an update or have issues when it can't poll the printer from the Mac (or the reverse Printer to the Mac) within the same net but different subnets.
