galaxy tab a keeps on rebooting

I bought a 9.7 galaxy tab a with s-pen in Feb '17. I stupidly updated the thing 3/4 months ago (dec/nov) (I say stupidly because it no longer takes png screenshots, instead it takes jpg screengrabs). I want pngs because they're sharper and clearer. Anyway, just earlier today, I attempted to downgrade the os/firmware from 7.1.1 (jpg screen taker), back to 6.1.1 (png screen taker). I used Samsung Odin v3.12.3. The firmware update (or downdgrade) completed but look now! The stupid thing is totally bricked, it constantly reboots and reboots. I even tried taking it to a few hardware stores but noooooo, they couldn't help me. I'm a YouTuber and desperately need this tablet to be fixed before the game event I'm taking pics for ends on monday. PLEASE HELP ASAP!

Your going to need to flash back the firmware you had before:

Downgrades on Android phones require a factory reset / wipe data most of the time to get them to boot.

So in the future always backup before attempting to downgrade firmware. Also recommended to do this before system updates too.

how do I downgrade the thing without bricking it, that's what i was asking?

You either need to wipe / data factory reset the firmware you downgraded to via recovery menu or you flash back to the latest android firmware compatible with your device.

TL-DR: Flash 7.1.1 back on to it to unbrick and keep data.

You can Upgrade it back to latest frimware, using Samsung tools. Put it in "ROM flashing state" Some unofficial naming for download mode

4. You are all done configuring the tool to flash the ROM. Let’s prepare your device to work with the tool. Put your device into download mode by first turning it OFF, then pressing and holding Volume DOWN + Home + Power buttons simultaneously. You will see an Android robot on your screen that indicates your device is in download mode.

if you cant handle it.
