iPhone stuck on recovery mode after trying everything...

Hi,

My iPhone 3G suddenly started the other day saying that i have to plug it with itunes... I did it and tried to recover but the recover does not succeed to finish. (error 14). Then i tried in DFU mode, same thing. Then i tried to jail break it (not that i want to but i was kind of desperate to make this recovery mode disappear) but at the end of the jailbreak, it reboot on recovery mode asking to plug it with itunes.

Can anyone help me with this? I wonder if it's not a hardware problem.

Thanks in advance for your help

Manu

Hi guys !

Thank you for the answers ! So i allready tried different firmware to downgrade it and different computer (both mac). I have two different USB cable and both are giving the same result. I recovery did not work and i'm on my way to try iREB.

I feel like my iPhone is dying :-(

Many thanks !

Emmanuel

It is not dying it is just taking a hiatus. Take it easy and systematic, if you try to many things at once, you are confusing yourself and will get frustrated. We'll get there one step at a time...

just in case you got lost in iRecovery, here is a tutorial http://thetechjournal.com/electronics/ip... again one step at the time

Couple things you can try. you can create a new user account and re-download the software. Retry to restore it with a new/different firmware, may be downgrade a version ortwo. You can also try to use a different computer and attempt a restore. The firmware is available at http://www.felixbruns.de/iPod/firmware/ and do a left shift-restore which then will give you the option to restore with your downloaded version of the firmware. Give it a try, nothing to lose just a lot to gain.

Besides everything oldturkey03 said. Try using a different usb cord. Try uninstalling all Apple applications on your computer. Then reinstalling them. Also there are several nonApple applications that enjoy a good reputation for resolving the problem you discuss (iREB & iRecovery). Here are some links to find these applications and instructions on how to use them.

There are several ways to go, here I list two of them:

1. Standard Apple method. Launch iTunes on your computer. Connect your phone to your PC and wait for iTunes to recognize your device. An iTunes popup will display that offers to restore your iPhone using your most recent backup, then click "OK".

2. Third-party software method. If the method above still cannot work out. You can try to use some third-party softwares, like iPhone data recovery. It is compatible with your iPhone model and it can not only recover your iPhone data, but also help you get out of the recovery mode of your iPhone when it stuck in recovery mode. You can visit the following tutorial for more details:

Hope this helps!

You can use iTunes to exit recovery mode. This method will erase everything on the iPhone, but a backup will be created during the restore process, allowing you to recover your data. Now follow the steps below to fix iPhone stuck on recovery mode problem:

(1) Connect your iPhone to your computer and run iTunes on your computer.

(2) Select your iPhone from the list of buttons at the top of iTunes, then click the "Restore" button.

(3) Wait for the backup and restore process to complete, then "restore from backup" in iTunes after the phone has been restored.

@sabbyannlynn really? you have to copy someone elses answer since you cannot come up with your own? Not making yourself look good on here with that type of behavior. You should consider using the delete button for your answer.
