MacBook Mid 2007 logic board in a MacBook Late 2007?

I have a MacBook (Late 2007) with a non functioning logic board. Everything else works.

I have a logic board from a MacBook (Mid 2007).

Can I use that logic board?

More info:

MacBook (Late 2007) 2.0GHz MacBook (MB061LL/B)

MacBook (Mid 2007) 2.0GHz MacBook (MB061LL/A)

Both are Model No. A1181

From other questions and answers I've read through it sounds like I can use it. I just wanted to be sure, thanks.

So I went ahead and tried to do this swap and I'm not sure if this is an absolute show stopper or not, but for me anyways I decided not to go any further. I found that atleast 1, maybe 2 screws for the cpu heatsink/fan was in a different spot. Also, I can't remember which now but one laptop had a 3rd antenna, while the other only had 2, and the airport card shape was different.

Actually, there are 2 different styles of logic boards common to this model 1181. One would use an 820-1889A replacement board ( 2.0, 2.1, 2.4 ) off the top of my head.... The other 2006-early 2007 would use an 820-2279 board which utilizes an Intel T8100 chip set.... Don't be put off by the tech talk. The only real difference is that the speakers fans and sensors have different style connectors but this is extremely important. If you are not sure, you will need to remove the keyboard and and right side RAM chip to see the board number. Be sure to order the proper speed or greater in that board style as some sellers do not specify the processor speed unless asked. The secondary market is alive and well for these replacement boards .... Make sure any part you buy is fully tested and guaranteed.... Good luck... PS I like to use sticky notes on an ice cube tray for screws or step numbers.... Happy fixing

Changing logic boards within the same series is usually easy. Your series, the A1181 should be able to accept any of these logic boards without to much trouble that I am aware of. http://www.everymac.com/ultimate-mac-loo...
