Phone does not boot but LED flashes

The device shutdown on its own while it was being charged at 70% battery capacity. Trying to reboot but no indication, just the LED light that flashes twice when power button is pressed. Screen doesn't come on at all, no screen activity either when the phone is plucked in to charge and while charging battery doesn't get warm anymore.

Like I later learnt, it's probably a crashed motherboard. Only thing to do is get anew phone or a new motherboard. I got the motherboard and installed it, phone has been running smoothly since then.

Try entering recovery mode using the Power + Volume up buttons. From there you can restore your phone.

The screen is completely shutdown... No form of activity! Doesn't light up or show any display.

Can the screen just crash like that or is it the motherboard that has crashed?

Also try Power + Volume down. The method of accessing the recovery menu my vary for different models under the same brand.

Try plugging it into a computer to see if it comes up as any device. If the screen is damaged, but it still boots without your knowledge, it will show up as a media device, in which case you would have to replace the screen.

You also mentioned the battery no longer gets warm which could mean it's either full, or damaged. If there is any way for you to open the device and test the voltage on the battery, you could either find the cause or rule one out.

If none of the above fix the problem, then yes, the motherboard is damaged, and there is no solution for it

Thnks alot. I'l do all that and get back to update it here. I've just resigned it to being a damaged motherboard, but I hope not, so I won't lose most or all of the stored content not backed up in the cloud.

So this is what it says, while trying to read/install it. "Unknown USB Device ( Device descripor request failed). USB device not recognised. Does this mean the motherboard has crashed?

I had a similar problem on my Xiaomi Mi Mix 2 with a blinking white led after the battery has totally discharged.

Here's how I fixed it:

1. Try plugging into different chargers:

Fast charger

Slow charger

Computer USB

2. Charge for a few hours to 1/2 day until screen flashes and/or you see the boot screen looping

3. Leave charging over night or 1/2 day (this will slowly charge up the battery)

4. If the phone still does not fully boot then:

a. Put phone in oven (remove any accessories including case) on LOW, e.g. 250F, 120C for 2 mins

b. Turn OFF oven, then wait 15 mins for phone to cool down

c. Plug in phone and power ON

NOTE: phone showed 60% charge when it finally powered ON, after the oven trick, so it is unclear whether the final problem was battery related or something else?

Good luck!
