Is this screen defective?

Hi,

I purchased an iPad 4 recently and when viewing the screen I can see two thin rectangular areas of white light bleeding through under the top bar, one in the very top-left corner and one three quarters of the way along. Is this screen defective?

The iPad seems to work, and the screen itself displays ok, but the lights are distracting, especially when viewing the screen at an angle, such as when it used on a flat table etc (and especially when the screen is darker).

Here's a picture: https://preview.ibb.co/hkEbXw/IMG_0395.j...

Thanks in advance.

Solución Elegida

You are right in saying it may be a defective screen, the only solution for that is to replace the inside LCD display which is under the glass.

Thanks Ben. I suppose the question is, should there be two areas of visible light under the LCD screen?

No, that is not normal. It means the backlight of the LCD has partially failed. Could be a sign that the iPad has been dropped and the digitizer glass touch screen has been replaced before.
