My phone is stuck in recovery mode

Once water damage occurs, it can get under Components on the motherboard...mainly IC chips where it is hard to clean the corrosion that occurs. You did the right thing by having it cleaned professionally but not sure how long it was wet before cleaning. Did they tell you what error you got from Itunes when it wouldn't restore? or if you could try restoring and tell me? the majority of my personal experience (Which isn't a lot...just under a year) removing and reballing NAND IC chip has helped me at times and other times I just couldn't figure it out and sold them as parts phones. I know this doesn't help much yet, but repost your results. You may also contact a more experienced tech in Microsoldering (Depending on how much you want to invest in it) and see if you could mail in for repair. I know that where you took it are good with changing screens, Charging ports, and basics... but are not qualified to do board level repairs.
