Are similar samsung batteries interchangeable?

So, my phone model is an SM-S820L. I'm having trouble finding batteries for it, but have found a lot for model SM-G360P. It looks pretty similar, and I'm wondering if I can use the battery for that model in my phone. (Both of these are Galaxy Core Primes, I think, but SM-S820L seems to be a somewhat "rare" model, as a lot of places don't seem to know what it is...)

Also, do I need a SIM card to use the phone, or can I just work off WiFi?

You only need the SIM card installed to send text messages and make calls + cellular data via a phone number.

Otherwise you can just use the phone as is on Wi-Fi just you can't do the above until you have a sim card installed.

While they look similar most of the time the size of the battery is different and will not fit. You better look for the same model battery.

Edit: After researching both those batteries. It looks like they both use the same battery and it's the same battery capacity. You should be able to use those batteries vice-versa as they are basically the same.

Hi you can interchange battery’s just pay attention to polarity. Usually marked close to the copper contacts and make sure voltage is the same or very close and Wh. Also make sure to see if charge voltage matches or is very close. All this info should be clearly printed somewhere on the battery. Right now I’m using a galaxy Note3 battery in an old galaxy grand prime and it boots perfectly. It doesn’t fit but with 2 way tape it does. 😉

Also make sure to see if charge voltage matches or is very close. All this info should be clearly printed somewhere on the battery. Right now I’m using a galaxy Note3 battery in an old galaxy grand prime and it boots perfectly. It doesn’t fit but with 2 way tape it does. 😉 — Naudi
