Hi,

Try a power reset and see if this resolves the problem.

1. Switch off the charger and disconnect it from the laptop.

2. Remove the battery from the laptop.

3. Press and hold the laptop's power button for 30 seconds to drain any residual power from the laptop.

4. Reconnect and switch on the the charger to the laptop (leave the battery out at this stage).

5. Start the laptop

6. If the laptop starts, allow it to boot all the way to the Windows desktop. When there wait for the HDD activity to settle before shutting down the laptop in the normal manner.

7. Once it has completely shutdown, switch off the charger and disconnect it from the laptop.

8. Reinsert the battery into the laptop.

9. Reconnect and switch on the charger to the laptop.

10. Start the laptop.

11. If the laptop starts, allow it to boot all the way to the Windows desktop. When there, wait for the HDD activity to settle.

12. Check the battery charge status icon on the taskbar.

13. If the battery is charging, allow it to fully charge before switching off the charger and disconnecting it from the laptop, leaving the laptop to run on the battery.

Update (04/05/2017)

Hi,

My only thought now is that possibly the DC-In connector may be faulty or that it is a motherboard fault.

Visually inspect the DC-In port to check for any damage etc. using a strong light and a magnifying glass.

If it is damaged then fortunately it is easy to replace as it is a connector attached to a cable which plugs into the motherboard. This is just an example of what it looks like. There are also videos available on YouTube which show how to replace it in your laptop.

If it looks OK then unfortunately there most probably is a problem with the motherboard.

Well, the solution of Mr Jayeff worked for me. Now it is initialising correctly. I only hope that my motherboard doesn't have any issues as Mr Jayeff refers to.

Thanks a lot.
