3DS Shuts off when a certain part of the system is touched.How to fix?

I have an original Aqua Blue 3DS system and it sometimes shuts down entirely with a small spark/pop sound whenever i hold or press a certain part of the system through gameplay i can tell that the location is the left of the upper screen and it shuts off instantly without warniing which can be VERY irritating in the middle of an unsaved play session.

Please give me help as There are no Nintendo Maintenance stores available at all.

Hi,

It sounds as if when you are pressing down that you are causing a short circuit between either the case and a component or two components etc.

Here is a link to the Ifixit repair guide(s) for your device. Use them to help you open your device so that it can be inspected. As you say that there are spark/pop sounds, once you have opened the device check out the area where you can cause the problem to occur and look for black sooty residues ('burn' marks etc.), as this will indicate exactly where the problem is, if there has been a spark.
