Preguntas 2 Ver todo

clog in vacuum cleaner hose

My canister vacuum is old (Sharp EC6310g) but sturdy. Parts not available. There's a rock in the hose and I've tried blowing it with my wet/dry vac, using plumbing snake--nothing has dislodged it. Can hose be taken apart and put back together? How? Rock is in non-flexible hard plastic where there's an angle, near top. Would appreciate any help!

Karen Pickett can you post an image of how and where it is stuck? Use this guide Agregar imágenes a una pregunta existente for that. I think I know what you are saying but just want to make sure.

canyonkid, If you can use something a bit harder to shove in the hose, like a long broom handle, metal rebar, pipe, etc., Give it a squirt of vegetable oil to aid rock in slipping out and bang it against something solid or bang where the blockage is with a board. The end may be able to be spun off/unthreaded like a bolt(takes a bit of muscle) some do not come off because hose and pipe are molded into each other. Good luck.

I hope this helped you out, if so let me know by pressing the helpful button.

It's the curve in the solid part of the hose that is why I can't push something all the way through. I'm afraid of trying too hard to unscrew it in case it's molded...was hoping someone knew if this model was molded or not.

canyonkid, like I said something stiffer say up to 3/4" O.D. still may go far enough into bend to dislodge the stone, I have used a copper pipe on mine, sorry I have not owned that model. If you had to,take it to a Vac repair shop and ask them if hose comes apart from nozzle.

canyonkid, Actually I am pretty sure the vac shop could remove the curved outlet and re attach whether it is press formed or glued they have the capability.

canyonkid, if you have anything in the red area dislodged, there will be no way you can insert anything to exert enough force to remove the rock. This is due to the angle of the front pipe. Take a close look at the knurled connector (yellow area.) I would try two Channel lock pliers and see if that is where the original hose (part 1) connects to the pipe (part 2). I suppose that part 2 is glued by the factory to the angles pipe, so I do not think you can remove that.

Right. And if it's glued then I break it forever. That's why I'm reluctant to use channel locks. But thanks. I was hoping someone had some knowledge of this particular model re. whether it has threads or is glued.
