keeps telling me that my password is wrong?

I have tried the password on my tablet many times for it to tell me that it is

THE WRONG PASSWORD!? I don't know how it could be the wrong password when I have been able to get into it in the past with the same password that I have on it?

So my question is how do I get into my tablet to reset the password or anything else when It won't let me? Is there some way I can get into my own Tablet?? I would appreciate any and all help!!

I just bought latest Samsung Galaxy 8 and used my dogs name as password very simple, I used to normally for several days then today all of a sudden it locked me out saying incorrect password! I know it isnt incorrect so there must be an issue with the pad itself, I dont know if it affects all pads or just Samsung but its clearly a glitch in that type of pad, I had to do hard reset losing my stuff and deleting my Google account. My advice is dont bother with passwords just use finger print or go without either!

When they changed my password I had to do a hard reset of the tab and choose new password, it's the only real solution though

My password is a simple pattern. I got the password right but it says incorrect. It usually locks me out for 30 seconds to a couple minutes. I have a Note 9.

Additionally Addy, me too!! Super simple pattern and it won't accept it, so I use my fingerprint. Then the next time I unlock the pattern works again. This has happened to me twice now. Also using Samsung Note 9.

Hi,

If you have the tablet configured with your google account, you should see an option to reset your password using your google account information. The method is described at the top of this website: http://visihow.com/How_to_unlock_Samsung...

If you do not have this option, you can do a factory reset on your tablet. However, be warned: this will erase all of the data on your tablet, so only use it as a last resort.

1. With the device off, press and hold Volume Up, Power and Home button.

2. Release the Power button when you see the Samsung logo, but continue to hold Volume Up until the recovery screen appears.

3. Use the Volume buttons to navigate the menu and select wipe data / factory reset. Press Power to choose the selection.

4. Press Volume Up continue.

I didn't forget my password.I'm sure what it was but samsung tab A showed wrong password and can't unlock it. In my home, all are old age and no one can't use or change password except me.Please tell me what should I do?

Didn't work put the wrong password into my tablet so many times then told me to put password in as tablet had reset it self then telling me to sign in using one of my owners google accounts .now can't use it .cant get Amy further than google start up page

A factory reset are you kidding me this is been going on for years with my Galaxy Tab A, my Note 5, my Note 8. Samsung needs to get their blank together and fix it because it's ridiculous you pay $800 for a device and every time you have to check in to your account they tell you it's the wrong password unacceptable %#*@ shameful! I'm not jumping through hoops to do this my next device won't be a Samsung that's for %#*@ sure.

But just for future reference it isn't Samsung or the phone It is Facebook And Google teaming up because u probably created more than one e mail address or more than one facebook account and try as they might getting information about you , but you were having none of it or they're scandalous ass ways they try 2 get info, so they're nosy @%^!* can peg you as being only 1 person instead of two, and since u probably new when they were doing it and either signed off or didn't give them the info they wanted and for not cooperating with one or the other,locking ur phone and loosing info about those accounts was both facebook&Google's solution. Google lock and find my phone are google handles, u can look till your blue in the face you will get the same answer. a factory reset. maybe you will be the one who gets !#^&@@ off to do something about there complete ignorance and deliberate, and continual breaking of ur CONSTITUTIONAL RIGHTS to privacy. since i& alot othrs r 2 lazy or chkn $@$*

I've just had this with my Galaxy Tab A! It was definitely the correct password as I'd used it 5 mins before. Thanks to these posts, I held the power button and volume down until it restarted (5 seconds) some devices use power and volume up by the looks of things, so try some combinations if it doesn't work. My password works fine again now and didnt have to reset and lose everything :)

My Tab did this too. While on press and hold power and volume down. It should open safe mode. If you pressed the correct volume button, it should say Safe Mode in bottom left corner. Now go to security and take passcode off. It will ask for current passcode which will work. Now that you have no lock passcode, do a normal power off then a normal power on. You will be ok.

Tried this option and it worked 1st time! Thanks for sharing. One weird thing is my clock and date were changed to a different color but that's fine with me so long as I can access my tab

#1 Carefully put Tablet on a hard surface, like a cutting board. It would work better with a towel underneath.

#2 Go out to the shed/garage/or wherever you keep your tools.

#3 Bring the item called a “hammer".

#4 With caution, use your hands, hold the hammer above the Tablet…

#5 Swing the hammer with a hard “smash like feeling"!

#6 Put hammer down on the table, step back and take a deep breath!

Sooo not funny, I can't get it to let me in, I keep trying my password but it's saying wrong password, which is impossible cause I use this password everyday. I have seen loads of different websites and they all say to turn it off and turn it back on again, or reset it, but to do that on mine you have to enter the pin, I don't know what to do, I have stuff on there that I can't loose and idk if it's backed up properly, what do I do other than smashing it which won't help clearly?!?!

Login using your Samsung account details. (This is generally setup when the tablet is set up). From here you will be able to remotely unlock the tablet with out having to do a Factory Reset and losing your data.

Guess I finally found a place where other people have the same problem. Have been at this password thing for hours upon hours & have tried everything I could, everything. All to no avail. Thank you to all these people writing with the same problem as I was feeling like the dumbest person on earth.

Dustin is right, this can work. But for me simulated battery disconnect worked (power button + low volume button for bout 10 sec) on my samsung galaxy A5 2017. Maybe reset works randomly, or after some tries. But one thing for sure.

I am not going to hard reset my phone second time…..

And the problem is real. I have rooted device and i unlocked multiple account option. And i dont think that a 15 y old can forget 3 passwords at the same time.

That forced restart worked for my daughter's A5 - power plus down volume until rebooting. Then password worked first time.

Thank You SO very much for the information! I had to use the factor restart you had explained. Unfortunately I guess I didn't have it configured to my Google account? I know I had used it many times to check my Gmail though? I guess I don't know HOW to configure them together? I know the only thing it kept telling me before I did the reset was it was the wrong password & I would have to wait 30 seconds before I could attempt it again, I never had anything from Google come up.

My Galaxy tab s4 does this all the time. I know the password but it keeps telling me it's wrong and it says biometrics can't be used till next time. If this is the case and YOU KNOW your password IS CORRECT, just reboot the tablet. Hold the power button down for 3-5 seconds and when the prompt comes up to turn off or reset, choose reset. YOUR PASSWORD WILL WORK ONCE IT COMES BACK ON. This is the only thing that works for me. My mother in law lives with us and has the same tablet and she never has this issue, so it is not every tablet.

Thanks Dustin! Same problem today on my Note 8. It mentioned that my password/PIN was incorrect and I knew it wasnt incorrect. 8 attempts were allowed after which my 'Work profile' will get deleted along with its data. (not sure if it just meant work apps or may be the entire phone's content'.

I followed your advise and I rebooted my phone (power + volume up button for 8 seconds) and it restarted. Once the samsung logo appeared, it asked me to put the password and the 'correct/unchanged/old password worked!!

Samsung this is a bull crap bug!

This is what worked for me -

Hold down the power and volume up buttons at the same time for about 10 seconds. My tablet started blinking. I tried a few more times and eventually it restarted. If the volume up dosent work, try volume down. I hadn't lost anything - great advise from here!

This is exactly what I did as well to turn my tablet off without a password. Once it restarted, it worked without a hitch.

You can soft reset your device by holding the power and volume down buttons for ~10 seconds! Your screen should flicker on and after a couple more seconds it’ll automatically fix itself, no data lost. This also works for if the screen freezes.

I have factory reset my Galaxy 10.1 and it accepted my google account with my password. Now when I want to instal gmail it tells me my password is wrong just like before the rest. Any advice, thanks in advance!.

I'm trying to set my galaxy a6 tab up. But it keeps telling me I cannot sign in as there has been a password reset and to try again in 24 hours. I haven't changed my password and have left it 48 hours and still saying the same thing. So I cannot use the tab. Please help!

I'm having the same issue with my Galaxy A71. I have reset my password ay least eight times and I know it's correct when I enter it, yet still receive message that it's incorrect. I have rebooted my phone several times to no avail.

I had my security pattern for about a year, last week my phone wouldnt unlock how much ever i tried!

I remembered the password and trust me somethin' like this happened for the first time in my whole life.....Didnt happen with mum or dad's phne!

Ugh i had to factory reset everything and download all the apps i lost:(

This need to be resolved.

There must be sought out a feasable way so that if at all system is unable to recognize correct pattern/pin, there could be additional options and a backup pin!

Especially for Samsung DUOS!-_-

My son's galaxy Tab A (model SM-T510) was giving the password error with the “try again in 30 sec" message, and it was suddenly asking for a password to shut down the tablet.

I had to hold the power button, vol up, and vol down all together for about 10 sec to power off. Once the Samsung screen starts blinking on and off, release the vol buttons and then the power button.

I originally tried the suggestion to use power and vol down, but bc all that does was take a ton of screenshots, so it was time to experiment! Lol

i have a samsung tab e. I tried to put on safe mode so that i could remove my current patterned password because my tablet was not accepting it even though it was the correct one but even that requires my password.... then i attempted to reboot and absolutely nothing changed. I have searched for videos and everything and it is still stuck on the same screen, telling me my password is incorrect. I wanna kms.

I have a old Samsung 7 that is no longer active I have gone into this phone because I use it for the old files I have in it I've never changed the password it's a pin and I need to get in it I have three tries left and it's telling me it's the wrong password I don't know but I can't get in it no matter what I do again I have a new phone this is an old phone that's let me for the last 2 years get into it when I needed it now it won't I don't know what to do and I can't even turn the phone off without a PIN I charged it up and it's on and now I can't shut it off without a PIN and I never change the pin it's always been the same again it's not a tablet it's a phone help me please
