Drove over my ipod nano 5th generation and broke out front glass

I accidently drove over my 5th generation nano and broke the glass out of it. What can I do to have it repaired? Is it possible to have the entire outside case replaced including the glass screen?

A cheap option here some Chinese company offering the glass for less then 5$ check it out.

The glass isn't the easiest to replace on the nano 5th gen. Check it out on ifixit guides or google.

"some chinese company off ebay" does not sound very reliable. I'd stick with the nice iFixit part I suggested, or a part from some other reputable source, such as OWC, Newegg, or MacMall

Ah but the part you linked to was the LCD for the nano NOT the glass. Additionally I have not seen the glass on ifixit which was why I refered to ebay. Also none of the online retailers mentioned carry ANY repair parts and only sell whole products. However a 5$ investment in the ONLY glass that is readily availible on the internet is a good bet, "Chinese and cheap" or not. Also it is glass... theres not much that could be defective with a piece of glass (Not liable to explode)Besides its only 5$

I have confirmed niether ifixit nor any of the on line retailers carry the glass. Besides Karen Cattell clearly stated she need the glass not the LCD which ifixit supplies.

A display consists of LCD+glass.

the original poster mentioned "front glass" in the title of this question, so I assume she only means the front piece and not the LCD display underneath. in this model iPod, they are separate.

Should be downvoted, this is the wrong part...

Actually not...

@Liam Spiers, Do not expect someone else to downvote! If you think this answer is wrong (is it correct, by the way), I suggest you save for 100 rep and do it yourself. Also, give a little respect to those you have many times your reputation.

if you're worried about overseas vendor via ebay, here's a US based vendor I've seen that has just the front glass "lens" for your nano.

note the front glass *IS* as separate piece from the actual LCD display for this iPod. see the teardown report here

I have no experience buying from above-mentioned vendor, I just have noticed their listings in the past.

The usability is about 1000 times better than before. You flick through albums and pick songs directly. You don’t have to operate it without looking since you can clip it so many places and show the screen at any rotation. You can wear it as a watch. Arguing for a click wheel makes no sense at all.
