Power issue after changing batteries

Ok, I'll start off with a rundown:

1.) Original iPhone battery would discharge quickly, needing to be charged at least twice a day with moderate use (listening to music, sending a few texts).

2.) Bought battery off eBay (yes I know!), replaced battery. Phone turned on at 23%. To clarify, I have replaced many a battery before hand, so knew what I was doing.

3.) New battery wouldn't accept a charge, in fact, while charging the indicated level would decrease.

4.) When fully 'discharged', the phone will power on for a split second, showing 1% battery, then power off.

5.) I plugged the phone into charge (tried a combination of different plugs and wires, original and spurious). It has 2 effects

-Phone will go into a boot loop; powering on for a splits second, showing 1% and the lightning bolt, and power off, then repeating this again and again.

-Phone will show the battery logo indicating it is charging.

In both states, I've tried resetting it, and leaving it charge for 8 hours but it still won't turn on.

6.) Bought another eBay battery, thinking that the battery might be at fault.

7.) Follow steps 3-5.

I am now thinking it could be 2 things, the logic board, or the dock connector? Has anyone else come across this and a way to fix it?

First off EBAY stuff is mostly $@$*. Buy from reputable sellers that have comments from previous purchaser's. Like Amazon or IFIXIT.

Second always charge apple products using apple chargers and cables. Never use second party products if you can help it.

Third always charge new batteries for 24 hours. If they do not charge then either the battery is bad or the charging circuitry is. But if you purchase from good sellers then it is more than likely the charging circuitry.

As for the battery, for the first year always charge it when the unit says it is low and never before. That way you will get the most use out of the battery.

I've bought plenty off eBay for other iPhones with no real issue. I know eBay is the cheap alternative, but either way, at least one of the btteries should have worked, if even for a little while

I will try charge for 24hrs, but while it is charging I should be able to turn the phone on at some point? It must be the circuitry, but is it the logic board or just the dock connector?

As for the battery, for the first year always charge it when the unit says it is low and never before. That way you will get the most use out of the battery.

I always do this, and I let my phone died completely at least once a month and fully recharge it too.
