Clean screen before securing Digitizer

I had to replace the digitizer on my wife's Ipad4. What is the best way to clean the LCD before gluing the digitizer back in place?

Dry Micro fiber cloth did the trick. Digitizer is not secured and ipad is fully functional at this time.

Thanks.

Use a soft microfibre cloth to clean the inside of the digitizer and the LCD. If there are stubborn marks or fingerprints that appeared during the installation, you can use a LITTLE bit of water (half a drop) with said cloth. Never use more than that much water. NEVER use any abrasive chemical, such as isopropyl alcohol or Windex. Just good ol' fashion water.

There is no point doing this, the foam gasket around the display is torn and dust will enter after you put the front panel down regardless of what you do.

Unless you replace the gasket.

Hello Bill,

Very carefully! Use a very soft brush first to remove any glass bits. A clean makeup brush works well for this but don't tell your wife you heard that from me. With a soft, micro fiber cloth you can then gently wipe away any remaining smudges from the screen. If you run into any difficult areas you can use a tiny bit of alcohol on your cloth and wipe gently. Be sure you are free of any dust before resealing the screen, a can of air will come in handy here.

Good luck

Holger

I almost thought you said toothbrush. Toothbrushes would be extremely unsanitary since it is used for oral hygiene (human mouths). It's an incredibly easy to spread bacteria, viruses, germs and 'disease'.

By can of air, do you mean WD-40? I am not saying that it is WD-40.

He means a can of pressurized air. Not WD40. You can find "Canned" air at computer stores

Use uncontaminated water, which may explain why alcohol’s ‘involved’. Alcohol can sanitize. Unfortunately, need more study on alcohol because it isn’t the foolproof way to sanitize. Plants can help to clean it all up. I would suggest a company like method, seventh generation, honest green, and there are plenty of companies willing to offer you these cleansing agents like the ones mentioned.
