Hello Bob, Might be software or hardware. First backup your device to a computer with iTunes. Then preform a DFU restore. Run it for a bit and see if its working as it should. Second, are you using and have you been using certified cables? Non MFI certified cables do not have an IC chip that cleans and regulates the voltage coming into your device. This can lead to the symptoms you are describing. Get a USB amp meter or take it to a local shop. If it draws the proper current then I think you have a damaged board on your battery that acts as your "Gas Gauge" Good luck Holger
Leer másHi Jake, Plug it in to a trusted computer. If thats not available you'll have to replace the screen and unlock it in order to retrieve your data. Holger
Leer másHello Ryan, A coupe of things. In my experience I've found mic and speaker issues to be either a software issue or dirt and debris in the mic or speaker ports (the grill in the screen). You should be able to see light through it. Outside of that you have done most everything you can do. Recheck the camera flex connection to the board, one hair can cause a problem Good luck, Holger
Leer másHello Pompoko, There is an IC on the Touch ID assembly that is keyed to the board. If the cable is damaged or replaced you will still have home button functionality but will lose touch ID. My guess is it was likely damaged upon removal, they are very sensitive. There is no way to repair this unless the damage can be found on the original home button flex and repaired. If you have a trusted shop nearby that does microsoldering I would reach out to them. It is not, however, a practical repair. Hope this helps, Holger
Leer másHello Althalous, Water damage is a tricky beast. Seems like a silly question but what kind of water? Many types of water contain dissolved minerals and electrolytes that will begin to corrode components on the board almost immediately. The board will need to be removed and properly cleaned to remove the corrosion. The battery may also need to be replaced as they short when exposed to water. I would start with removing the board and find a local shop with a good ultrasonic cleaner. Replace and test. Next stop would be the battery and pray for the best. I hope this helps Holger
Leer másHelp us out with a little background here please. Has it ever been wet? Has it sustained a drop or has been say on? Does it ring or vibrate or do any lights come on? The Samsung displays will go black if the LCD is cracked at all. Clean the screen and hold it at an angle to the light and see if there are any hairline fractures below the glass.
Leer másCheck your battery connection if you disconnected it. Look for damage on the board by the battery connection that might have been caused by prying up the connector. If you didn't disconnect the battery there is a chance you blew the backlight filter. There is also a chance something could have been knocked off the board while removing the the LCD, Digitizer or Camera flex connector.
Leer másHello Saskia, If it's drawing power but not charging you may need to replace the battery. It's a pretty simple job, just be careful and take your time. Holger
Leer másHello Liam, The cell antenna is a thin cable that connects south of the battery connection and comes up from the dock port. Check the connection first and inspect the port for damage. If all looks good, replace the dock port. Good Luck Holger
Leer másHello Bill, Very carefully! Use a very soft brush first to remove any glass bits. A clean makeup brush works well for this but don't tell your wife you heard that from me. With a soft, micro fiber cloth you can then gently wipe away any remaining smudges from the screen. If you run into any difficult areas you can use a tiny bit of alcohol on your cloth and wipe gently. Be sure you are free of any dust before resealing the screen, a can of air will come in handy here. Good luck Holger
