SSD Upgrade and Photoshop CS6 now lags

Hi everyone

I've got a Macbook Pro 15-inch, Mid 2010

Processor: 2.8 GHz Core i7

Memory: 8 GB 1067 MHz DDR3

Graphics: NVIDIA GeForece GT 330M 512 MB

Serial Number :

Software: OSX 10.9.5

Replaced the SSD with a Crucial_CT512 M550 SSD1

Partition Map Type: GPT

So the computer starts up fine, nice a quick. But recently the computer has struggled with minor tasks, loading web pages, etc. My Main issue is photoshop constantly lags now. When I open a black file and use the paint brush tool on a large size, the brush lags and photoshop even bring up the (wait/hourglass/process) mouse icon. Any ideas of what to do? Is the issue the new SSD? Or is this Macbook just to old now to handle photoshop CS6?

How much free space do you still have on your drive? You may need to free up some space and/or reduce the number of apps or files you have open concurrently.

Hi all, for a 500GB SSD drive I have 300GB of free space. My SSD is only a couple of months old.

Regarding open applications, I only had Photoshop CS6 open.

Photoshop does open, and I can create a new blank document. But my issue is the paint brush, its super slow, and the spinning wheel of death pops up when I try anything. When this happens I have to force shutdown Photoshop. I have 8GB of RAM.

I'm thinking it might be a mother board issue? Could it really be the Hard Drive Cable? even thou I have no trouble running all other applications like, Mail, Safari, Numbers? Plus uploading and downloading files and photos, I find there are no issues?

I'd replace the Hard Drive/IR cable with a new one from a 15" 2012 model.

UPDATE 10/12/15

I just noticed your partition type. You listed it as a GPT not GUID formatted Mac OS Extended. Please verify your partition type and how you formatted it.
