My phone has been overheating, and I don't know if I'm just overusing my phone or if I have a hardware problem. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

It might be commonly overheating because you have many apps or programs open and running in the background without fully closing them when you aren't using them. This is just the most common and probable cause but for more information go here
