Why does my tablet have no sound output?

Before checking anything further, ensure that the volume on the device is turned all the way up, or that the device is not muted.

After assuring the sound settings are working properly, diagnose if the problem is a dead speaker. Try plugging in a pair of headphones or an external speaker in to the audio jack. If you are hearing sound from the connected device, the problem is definitely the speaker and you will need to get it fixed or replaced.
