Why does my iPhone 4s not charge?

Hey guys,

I have the problem that my Iphone 4s will not charge.

The strange is, my smartphone detects my charging cable: When I connect the Phone says "charged 14%", and there is the small lightning symbol in the corner.

I already exchanged the battery and my doc connector. neighter worked.

has anyone an idea? can I still do something by myself?

Greets;

M.S.

VIP I, check on this. "Fake" charging or not charging is usually caused by a failed/damaged charging coil. Check for any physical damage, or if you have the knowledge and tools, check for function. You want to start by checking 3 inductors. For that, of course, you need a multimeter, or at least an ohm meter, to check for continuity. I hate to refer to those as fuses, but they most certainly control part of the charging circuit. First one is reference designator L3, it is a FERR-120-OHM-1.5A inductor. L4, right below it , has the identical value. Next would be the charger inductor L28 2.2UH-1.8A-155MOHM. All of these are pretty much available at mouser. com or digikey.com. Check the Diode D604, located just above L28. Hope this helps, good luck.

First I would check all the flex cables are plugged in good, but before you could check and see if the flex connector cables are still in good condition. Sometimes when you aren't careful you can damage either the connector on the part or you could damage the connector on the logic board, if you damaged the connector on the logic board then you have 2 options, you can send the device away for board level repair or you can get a new logic board for your phone. But if that looks good then you can do some software troubleshooting by doing a hard reset of the phone by holding sleep wake and home button until you see apple logo then let off both buttons, if that doesn't work then try backing up your data up to iTunes and doing a restore of the phone. Lastly you could try doing a firmware restore of the phone using the following steps:

1.Hold the Power Button (3 secs)

2.Continue holding the power button and also hold the home button (15 secs)

3.Release the power button while continuing to hold the home button (10 secs)

4.Connect device to iTunes

5.It will say iPhone in recovery mode click restore

Hopefully one of these things will help, Good Luck.
