Bought a new battery, installed it, now my computer will not power

I just bought a brand new battery from Ifixit, and followed the process to change the battery as it was shown. I let it charge for 10 hrs and then tried powering it on. Which it did when the power charger was plugged in. As soon as it was unplugged from the computer it shut off. So what is going on here?

Also I noticed my old battery was a 60wH while the new battery is a 63.5wH. Would this have anything to do with the issue?

First off, don't worry - I've bought a lot of stuff from iFixIt and I've never had a problem. If the part is faulty I'm sure they'll make it right. Also, 63.5Wh is correct for this battery.

What happens with the LED on the magsafe connector? What color is it?

Also, have you performed an SMC reset? If not, do this: Shutdown the computer. Make sure it's plugged in. On the left side of the keyboard press Shift, Control and Option at the same time. While holding that down press the power button. Release all keys/buttons at the same time. The color of the magsafe LED should change. If it turns orange and stays orange the battery wasn't charged so leave it for a while.

Now try starting the computer and see if it works.

If not, with the power plugged in start your Mac into OS X. Hold down Option and click on the battery symbol at the top right corner of the screen. What does it say?

Thanks for the feedback. The LED magsafe connector is green. I tried the reset and it seems like it didn't work as the computer still shuts off as soon as I unplug the power.

When I click on the battery symbol, the condition is normal, battery is charged, power source: power adapter. Im really perplexed at all this.
