I replaced a front panel on the iPod and i plugged in to charge and i got the white screen. after a little bit, it turns off and won't turn back on. if i unplug it, the same thing happens. I need some answers quick because i have to give it back to a customer by next week. Any ideas?

I hate ipod 4th gen.
Have you tried a reboot home&power to reset? If so, let the battery die, that may work.
Otherwise you've either, knocked a component off when removing the plate, or the lcd connection wasn't In correctly, and the display is blown. So another is required.
Is it recognised bh itunes when plugged into the pc/laptop/mac

I'm trying to run its battery down but since i can't do anything with the screen, it's stuck in standby mode. Any ideas on how to get it down faster?
Thanks for your input. I ran downs its battery and it was the display.

No, I've been in the same situation. Unless you're any good at de sokderig the battery?

I'd rather not try that partially because I already managed to short out my first screen replacement trying to open it after it didn't work. So, I'm not sure how to proceed.
