Screen randomly goes white after replacement

Hi, trying to fix my son's iPod touch 4 after he dropped it, smashing the touchscreen and denting the case.

I put everything into a new case, and fitted a new LCD and touchscreen unit. I tested without putting adhesive on in case I needed to do anything.

It worked for 10 minutes then screen brightened to white and ipod was unresponsive so I held power button until it turned off. It wouldn't turn back on and wasn't recognised in iTunes.

I had to let the battery go flat over several days, then plugging it into the charger brought up the charging symbol.

It worked for 2 days then while being used went white again. Won't come on again now so I'm leaving it to go flat again.

Has anyone had this odd random screen issue after a screen replacement? I don't know what to do next...

Thanks

Thanks for the reply. While it worked for those 2 days, I noticed the battery went flat in only an hour or so of use. No shorts so will try a new battery and post results here.

I did wonder if it might be because the screen is a copy. As for the copper tape, I don't recall any being on either of the two screen connectors. Which should have it, the uppermost connector visible when screen is lifted, or the one hidden under the logic board?

I've done a few lcd replacements on the 4th gen iPod touch, but the ones I did with the back replacement as well, seem to have some sort of problem, in your case I believe the it's the battery that's causing the problem, maybe a short, have a look inside and see if the 3 points of the battery are clear if so, replace the battery

non-oem screens can be weird. Did you replace the copper tape that holds the LCD connector to the motherboard?

The call that attaches to the bottom of the motherboard should have copper tape - kinda secures things - I remember it being a flimsy connection
