-I've done a few lcd replacements on 4the gen iPod touch, but the ones I did with the back replacement as well, seem to have some sort of problem, in your case I believe the it's the battery that's causing the problem, maybe a short, have a look inside and see if the 3 points of the battery are clear if so, replace the battery
