Sony 55hx850 with vertical strip

SunNerd, this could be a TAB error or a cable error. Check the cable first. Make sure it does not have any tears or rips in it. Make sure that it is properly seated and that all pins are straight and no corrosion/dust or debris is on those. Should that not help, you could try and press on the top tab' and see if that change the images. It does look most likely like a cable error. Whatever you do, make sure that you do not touch anything that carries any kind of current with your body. Make sure that you understand electrocution etc. don;t want you to get zapped. If i grip the TV at that spot it either gets worse or goes away (was moving it 2in across carpet).
So is this a TAB error or cable error (haven't had dedicated time to open back panel)?
If it gets better with pressure on the area where the stripe is, it is very indicative of a TAB error. Again, once you have it apart, you may see more of what is going on.
