Can I fix the logic board contacts?

So I have an 2nd generation iPod nano that got washed years ago. We had to replace the headphone jack and the ribbon button assembly under the click-wheel, but one of the two little contacts that stick up from the logic board corroded and broke, and as far as I know, that's the only thing keeping this iPod from working again. I am planning to attempt to melt a bead of solder across the contacts. Will this work instead of buying a whole new logic board (if the logic board works, of course)?

You should post pictures so I can give you the best answer, but I think you might have to buy a new board.

aren't those grounding clips? i don't think they are both required, and don't think that bridging the pads is going to do a whole lot---i think they are meant to contact the case. Take the thing apart and see if it can fire up using something else to ground to case.

I would doubt that this would solve a no power problem. these things are so cheap now, i just fixed my old mini tonight---i bought a battery and a click wheel and spent more on those two things than just buying one on ebay that is fully functional.

Well I don't really know what they are, and also, they are supposed touch what looks like a small round piece of tin foil that's stuck to the underside of the inside of the case (factory of course, not a DIT fix). Also, I'm pretty sure that I couldn't get it to power on outside the case because there is a snap connection that links the click wheel to the logic board when the logic board is inside the case. I will try to get pictures later today!

BTW, I'm new here, how do I upload pictures?
