water damaged/wont charge and mic broken

My wife threw Iphone in wash with my pants, I let it sit in rice for 2 days, when I turned on everything worked but battery wouldn't charge, I replaced battery and it still wouldn't charge when I plugged in, in synced to computer but the battery symbol always had a plug in its logo, also the mic didn't work at all either when calling or trying to record something. I switched out the battery dock and made sure all the connections were tight and nothings changed when I turned back on. Any suggestions? Thanks

michaelvargo80, the very first thing I would suggest is that you clean your phone. Rice is a great first aid, but it will not clean your phone (especially detergents) nor will it prevent corrosion. Disassemble your phone all the way, using these guides. After that, use this guide to clean your phone properly. It was written for a 3g but all the steps still apply to your phone as well. Inspect for missing and/or corroded components. Once it is cleaned, reassemble it and check for residual damage, if any.

If the cleaning doesn't fix it replace the dock connector.
