Rear camera no image or shutter does not open.

After a broken screen replacement on a Verizon iphone 4 I noticed the rear camera isn't working. The front camera works fine but when you switch to the rear, it freezes, shutter doesn't open or no image black screen. I've cleaned contacts with 90% alcohol and let dry for hours. I've replaced rear cameras still nothing and I've tested all cameras on another working iphone they all work fine. So what am I missing, I've went over everything a hundred times. Is there a capacitor that needs fixing, please leave a picture of a CDMA iPhone 4 if that it, thank you.

I would think it to be a connection issue. Either a damaged connector or just clean the connectors with alcohol and reseat the connection. The replacement camera is not very expensive and can be bought on this site. I would download some free camera apps and see if they will work.I have had phones that worked great on super cam but did not work on the stock app. This doesn't cost anything to try out. I bought a iphone 4 last December that had a rear camera that did not work same issue, but after a series of restores it did start to work and still works to this day.

I had the same issue until I did the DFU Restore and did not restore from a backup and has worked fine ever since.

Check all jumpers near the camera FPC. If it was knocked off you can buy a Circuit Writer Pen and fuse the two connections together. This is common and happens from being physically removed.

HI anyone have a picture of the CDMA logic board jumper for the camera and location? NOT the GSM! I have seen that picture. I'm having an issue with a Verizon 4. I have over 1000 (yes, 1000) 4/4s repairs and I have never had this issue on a CDMA phone. Only 2--3 times with the GSM.

Thanks in advance!

My iphone 4 CDMA rear camera shutter won't open on ios 5.0.1/5.1.1/6.0.1/6.1. I found a missing jumper on the logical board under the rear camera connector. the missing jumper is located between two other jumpers. Therefore, I wonder if I make a connection there and it happens to contact the other two jumpers, will that fries my iphone? Check the image link below.

Tompkins, the problem could be anything. It might be a software glitch or a hardware error. If this thing doesn't gets resolved with re-installation of software than its surely a hardware issue. I was facing similar issue, (mine had a Camera Strip problem). Here is the link of blog post that might assist you with your iPhone's Rear Camera Prob http://blog.brokenlcds.com/identifying-a... or at least it is going to help you in identifying the issue. :)
