  • Turn off the laptop and disconnect the power cord.

  • Turn the laptop back on and press the F1 button repeatedly to access the BIOS menu.

  • The BIOS is built in software for the computer. For this fix we will just need to use it to disconnect the battery.

  • The battery needs to be disconnected to avoid electro-static discharge. This is static electricity from your body that can damage electronics.
