Background and Identification
Automotive accessories include non-essential automotive parts that embellish the look and feel of an automobile. Accessories can also add functionality to automobiles. Automotive accessories include convertible top supplies, automotive electronics, in-car entertainment, and automobile wheels.
Automobile accessories include anti-hijack systems, car alarms, cargo barriers, headlight covers, hood ornaments, wheel rims, and vehicle tracking systems. Many automotive accessories are purchased from the automotive aftermarket, which is the secondary market of the automotive industry. The automotive aftermarket is concerned with the manufacturing, remanufacturing, retailing, distribution, and installation of vehicle parts, equipment, and accessories after the sale of the automobile by the OEM (original equipment manufacturer) to the consumer. Aftermarket automobile accessories may not be sold by the original equipment manufacturer.
Almost every car has some kind of automotive accessories that help make the driver more comfortable and keep the vehicle running smoothly. Car care accessories include tires and other items for the car’s interior and exterior. Interior accessories are typically not necessary but may include things like dash covers, seat covers, mirrors, steering wheel covers, and floor mats. Exterior automobile accessories can include spoilers, sports mirrors, window visors, car covers, and windshield wiper blades. Both interior and exterior accessories can help protect cars from wear and tear.
